Film Bench is a personal notebook for home black-and-white film development experiments. This policy explains what the app does—and does not—do with information on your device.
Film Bench stores the following locally on your iPhone using on-device storage (including SwiftData / app documents):
This information is not uploaded to a Film Bench server. There is no Film Bench cloud account.
If you attach sample images, Film Bench accesses the photo library only when you pick photos through the system picker. Photos are stored with the related experiment on your device. Film Bench does not upload photos, does not scan your whole library in the background, and does not use photos for advertising or tracking.
Optional unlock of unlimited experiment saves is a one-time non-consumable In-App Purchase processed by Apple (StoreKit product ID feb_unlock_999). Apple handles payment. Film Bench only learns whether the unlock entitlement is active on this device (including Restore Purchases). We do not receive your full payment information.
Aside from Apple services required for In-App Purchase / restore, Film Bench is designed to work without a Film Bench backend. We do not operate an analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising network for this app.
Film Bench does not track you across apps or websites. It does not use the App Tracking Transparency framework to request tracking permission because it does not track.
Film Bench is not directed at children and is not a “Made for Kids” product. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Because data stays on your device, deleting the app (or clearing its data) removes the locally stored experiments and photos held by Film Bench. Uninstalling the app does not automatically refund an Apple In-App Purchase; manage purchases through your Apple ID / App Store settings.
Apple provides the App Store, StoreKit, and related platform services under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. Film Bench does not sell your information.
Any chemical or process notes in the app are for personal hobby logging only and are not professional advice. The device screen is not a safelight and is not safe for undeveloped film or paper.
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
